May 21, 2026

Achievement recognizes Labstat’s 50-year commitment to scientific quality, integrity, and global regulatory support.

KITCHENER, Ontario – May 21, 2026 – Labstat Inc., a Certified Group company and the world’s largest independent nicotine and tobacco contract research organization (CRO), announced today that it has been formally recognized as a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliant facility under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Principles of GLP through the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

The certificate was issued May 13, 2026, with initial recognition dated May 4, 2026.

“OECD GLP recognition further reflects the quality and scientific discipline our teams bring to their work every day for our clients,” said Scott LaNeve, President of Labstat International, Inc. “To receive this recognition during Labstat’s 50th year serving the global nicotine and tobacco industry makes it especially meaningful for our organization.”

OECD GLP recognition allows for Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD) by globally participating countries, which can be used by our customers without additional testing and will speed up the regulatory approval process.

Labstat supports traditional tobacco products and next-generation nicotine products through analytical chemistry, microbiology, and in vitro toxicology testing in support of customer product development and assessment, PMTA submissions, and other international regulatory and quality programs.

“Our clients depend on the quality of our work every day, and this achievement reflects our team’s commitment to that responsibility,” said LaNeve.

“Labstat’s GLP recognition reflects Certified Group’s strategic commitment to expanding our CRO services to other products and providing our customers with the solutions and data they require for new products and enhancement to existing products,” said David Morgan, Certified Group CEO. “This achievement highlights the technical capability our customers rely on to move forward with confidence.”

With OECD GLP recognition, Labstat helps clients support:

  • Non-clinical studies under OECD GLP principles.
  • Aerosol, smoke, and oral nicotine product exposure preparation.
  • Cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, and mechanistic endpoint testing.
  • Analytical chemistry and microbiology evaluations.
  • Regulatory submissions to FDA, Health Canada, and other agencies.
